Prof. Dr. Tanveer Akhtar is affiliated with the Department of Zoology, University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. She did her PhD in Parasitology in 1991 from Punjab University. She also did three post-docs from USA and Canada. Prof. Akhtar is the recipient of numerous awards including XIVTH Star Award, South Asia Publications (2003), Best Teacher Award from Higher Education Commission (2008), Incentive Award on Research Publication (2008) and AACR Scholar-in-Training Award (2010). She has also served as visiting distinguished professor at Montifior Einstein center of Cancer Research 2011 New York, USA. She has supervised around 45 MSc theses, 10 MPhil theses and 20 PhD theses. She has about 193 peer reviewed publications under her belt and participated and arranged numerous national and international conferences and workshops. She has completed 10 research projects and additionally 9 Punjab University research projects.
