Prof. Dr. Riffat Naseem Malik (T.I.)
Riffat Naseem Malik is an Professor, founder and currently chairperson in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. She received her PhD from the University of Reading, UK in 2003 and postdoctoral research fellowships from the University of Turku, Finland and Lancaster University, UK. Dr Malik is an expert on studying environmental contaminants in particular “Persistent Organic Pollutants” (POPs), their trends, fate, behavior, atmospheric transport and sources in aquatic and terrestrial resources of Pakistan; their effects, impacts on ecological systems and risks associated to human health and wildlife. To date 55 M.Phil and 08 PhD students earned their degrees under her supervision. She has authored/Co-Authored over 132 research publications in ISI peer reviewed journals with the Impact factor of >500 with total citation of 1179 and h-index of 21). She has co-edited 02 books and contributed 06 chapters in the field of Environment and contaminants. Dr Malik was ranked 14th amongst productive Scientist of Pakistan and 1st in the category “Environmental Science” in 2014 by the Pakistan Council of Science and Technology (PCST).
