Dr. Shahnaz Perveen is serving as Principal Scientific Officer in PCSIR Laboratories, Karachi. She did her PhD in 'synthesis and natural products chemistry' fromHEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, International Center for Chemical Biological Sciences, Karachi. She also possesses post-doctoral experience from Interfakultres Institut fur Biochemie der Universitt Tbingen, Germany. She is the recipient of Research Productivity Allowance (RPA) from Pakistan Council for Science & Technology (PCST) since 2001-02. She has also received Star Laureate Award (2004). Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) also nominated her as Active Scientist & Technologist of Pakistan (2005). She has more than 180 peer reviewed publications in reputed journals with a cumulative impact of above 200. She has co-authored a number of books by international publishers.
